Thirty Three

A 2 track single () — released November 27th 2006 on One Note Records

One of the most consistently fresh keepers of the funk, and a band that you will most often find on the top of people's "who keeps it the realest?" list, The New Mastersounds are back once again to show why! After a slew of tighter-than-a-monkey’s-arse (tm Keb Darge) albums and singles on a variety of labels, the Leeds-based fourtet are back on their own label One Note with an uptempo dancefloor rocker that we've all come to expect! Thirty Three shucks and shakes in all the right places, with a nod of the head to the classics that have inspired them. Just check that Hammond work! Over on the flip comes the equally as pant-shakingly great ‘Talk Is Cheap’ with some heavy guitar work from Eddie Roberts alongside the deft tenor sax of Rob Lavers (K-Scope, Further Out). A small taster for the forthcoming brand new long player "102%". Feel the funk, no fakin!

Another fine record by hands-down one of the best labels in the North of England if not the country. The New Mastersounds deliver yet again and manage to capture what we love about the amazing funk group when we see them live. More heavyweight action from New Yorkshire asap... great stuff!! - Diesler Tru Thoughts
